What Are Road Bike Shoes?

We all are familiar with a wide variety of shoes. The shoes can be classified accordingto the purpose of shoes which they are meant for. The shoes which are used generally bythe cyclists for the purpose of racing are commonly known as Road Bike Shoes.

Thus these shoes can be classified into a number of groups namely track racing shoes, roadracing shoes, touring shoes and so on. Now the trend changes, everyone wants to useshoes having clip less pedals which helps to adjust the rider to make his foot screw to thesole, the bottom part .Generally the heel and toe part, the outsole is made up of differentmaterials which helps in the increasing pace of rider while riding. Now the material usedto make the sole is plastic or carbon.

Plastic is widely used for it can make any shapeaccording to the shape of the foot of the rider. Carbon is the costly metal used in themanufacture of shoes which increases the price of racing shoes which everybody cannotafford. Moreover, carbon is a metal with heavy weight which the rider feels heavy to lift. The upper part is made up of leather, a metal which helps the rider's foot to be well fixedwith the shoe. The shoes are designed in such a way that the rider can feel a comfortzone. The shoes are designed with adjustable laces which helps rider to insert their footinto the shoes. The foot is completely fixed with the shoes and the rider can stretch hisfoot to an extent by the usage of leather as the material used in the manufacture of racingshoes. Comfort and durability is the main thing to be put in mind before selecting racingshoes

Clipless shoes and pedals are all about energy efficiency. Many riders swear that when they ride with clipless shoes, they can improve their overall speed by 5% or more. In other words, there is a 5% energy efficiency. If you rider short distances (e.g. 5km), a 5% reduction probably doesn't amount to much. However, if you are joining races or running distances as long as 100km, 5% can mean a huge difference.

Note that both road and mountain bikes have bicycling shoes, but they are different in terms of design. Mountain bike shoes have recessed clips, wheres road shoes have protruding clips. Many riders who own both a mountain and road bike prefer to wear mountain bike shoes because they can also walk in them. Besides, mountain bike shoes look more normal if you are just out cycling casually with a group of friends.
