Alchemy Lab

The Alchemy Lab provides you with upgrades and new advances within your city. Any advances completed in one city, will automatically be made into effect into all your other owned cities in that realm.

Upgrades include Increased Resource Productions, Faster Troops Movement, Faster Building Time, Faster Training Times for Troops, Health, Armor and Defense Increases and much more. Assign a Knight as an Alchemist to help you upgrade faster. Only one is required in each city.

Barracks

Barracks are where you Train troops for your army. Available Troops include: Supply Troops, Militiamen, Scouts, Pikemen, Swordsmen, Archers, Cavalry, heavy Cavalry, Ballistae, Battering Rams and Catapults.

The more Barracks you have and at Higher Levels, the faster you can train troops. You should aim for at least 10-15 Barracks in your city for maximum Troop Making abilities.

Blacksmith

The Blacksmith doesn't actually produce anything from itself, but it is a requirement that you need to be able to unlock upgrades from the Alchemy Lab and to be able to Train certain Troops in the Barracks. Only one is required.

Castle

Your Castle will already be built for you in each city, So you will only need to upgrade it. Each castle Upgrade will unlock 3 more Fields for Resources, let you upgrade cottages to the next level and let you own one extra Wilderness.

Cottage

Cottages are needed to raise your population limit. Population Limit is needed to Train new troops and to collect Gold from your people. You should have around 6-7 Cottages in your city.

Embassy

The Embassy is needed to Join or Create an Alliance within your realm, Being in an Alliance grants you protection and unlimited help from your fellow Alliance Members, The Embassy also allows you to hold troops from your Alliance Members within your Castle to use as Reinforcements. Only one Embassy is required, the higher you upgrade it, the more Alliance members troops you can hold.

Knights Hall

The Knights Hall is an essential Building. It lets you Hire Knights (friends who already play KoC). Once you have Knights you can assign them a Skill that is beneficial to your city or to attacking. Knights can level up with experience points, they gain points every hour, the higher level your Knights Hall = more exp points your Knights will gain per hour.

Market

A market allows you to be able to Trade with other players in your realm. You may buy or sell resources here.

I would advise you not to Buy any resources from the market as the prices are normally way too high and you should spend your gold on Levelling up your Resource Fields instead. The only way I would Buy from the market is If you have a huge amount of unused resources that you don't use e.g Wood (if you have no use for it much now that all your buildings are built) and Sell the one resource, and use the Gold to buy another resource that you actually need. Only one is required in each city.

Rally Point

A Rally Point is needed to Send Troops out of your City, This includes: Attacking Players/Barbarians, Moving Troops, and Transporting Resources. The higher level your Rally Point, the more groups you can send out and the quantity off troops in that group increases. Only one is required ion each city.

Relief Station

The Relief Station increases your Troops marching time between your cities and allies. You will need a Relief Station in each city, the higher level station = the faster speed increase for your troops.

Stables

Stables are needed to unlock Cavalry and Heavy Cavalry in your Barracks. Each level up on your Stables will increase the training time of your Cavalry Troops. Only one Stables in needed per city.

Storehouse

The Storehouse is basically a Safe House for your Resources when you are being attacked. Depending on the level of your Storehouse then X Amount of your resources will be protected and cannot be stolen. This is a vital building, so you should try to level this up to the max quite fast. Only one is buildable per city.

Tavern

The Tavern is not essential. If you have Tax % set on your city then your population will not like to live there so much, but if you have a Tavern, for every level high your tavern is this will equal out 1% off your Tax. You will still get the same Tax amount but your population will think they are paying 1% less - as they will get drunk in the Tavern;) You will only need one Tavern.

Wall

The Wall is part of your Castle's defence and will help defend your city from attackers. The higher the level of wall, the more durability it has to take more attacks. When your Wall gets so high, you will be able to create Wall Defences such as Mounted Crossbows which will automatically defend your city when being attacked.

Watch Tower

A Watch Tower will Alert you of any incoming attacks/scouts. The higher the level your Watch Tower then the more details about the attack it will show you e.g Amount Of Troops, Type of Troops, Upgrades etc. You will only need one per city.

Workshop

The workshop does not do anything itself, but again is a requirement for certain upgrades and is needed to build items such as Catapults and Trebuchets.
