That makes it convenient for you because you don't have worry about getting a taxi to take you back for the night, and, your children are right upstairs if there are any issues with them during the evening.

You can start your evening at one of DC's finest restaurants and enjoy delicious champagne and sumptuous food before heading to your next stop. If you're into clubs or lounges go online a couple of months before your trip and make a reservation for that party. It's always fun to go to more than one party on New Year's Eve. New Year DC goes all out to make sure you have a good time.
During the days before and following New Year's there are so many things to do New Year DC that both you and your children will enjoy. There's a great ice skating rink at the National Gallery that is surrounded by beautiful sculptures, the National Zoo is always a blast for people of all ages, and both children, and adults love the Air and Space Museum. And don't forget the Natural History Museum, the Smithsonian Discovery Theater or one of several water tours that take you on a beautiful ride along the Potomac with great views of the city.
