This month's product review: The You Rock Guitar

Move over, Guitar Hero!

Whether you are a five-time Grammy award-winning artist or just an avid Guitar Hero gamer, the You Rock Guitar will provide you with hours of entertainment. I recently heard all the buzz about this new music gadget and of course I had to check it out for myself. After spending an evening on the guitar, I can see why techies and musicians alike love it. The You Rock Gutiar is compatible with the Mac and PC, MIDI, and gaming consoles, and this electronic guitar can also plug directly into an amp. The You Rock Guitar can be set to the 25 pre-programmed guitars and 50 synths that will have you shredding like Guns and Roses' Slash or finger-picking like the great Doc Watson. You may choose to play along with many tracks and loops. And the greatest feature of all that you could have on a guitar - IT IS ALWAYS IN TUNE!

For the beginner who thought they would never be able to learn the guitar, the You Rock Guitar's "You Rock" mode allows you to play along with a wide selection of featured tracks. If you play a note that does not work with the song, you will not hear the jarring sound of an off-key note, but rather a much less distracting, muted noise. Are your fingers sore from strumming the strings and pressing frets? No longer an issue for you, my friend - with its rubberized, pressure sensitive fret board, composing music has never been easier.

As we turn more and more towards a digital market, it is great to have a digital music instrument that actually sounds like the real thing. And speaking from personal experience, you will not be able to nput this guitar down.
