subject: Sky TV on the X Box for the Insanely Technophobic [print this page] Whats that, I say, technology is running away with me here! Today I saw a woman using the internet on a teeny weeny phone, an i-phone, I believe. I see this everywhere mini screens and sticky fingers and still have no desire to be even more involved- all the time with technology! First theres cameras and phone and there are phones that can be spirit levels and phones that tell the future and predict the lottery well not yet, but there will be! Why does everything start with an i now? Its like some silly way of saying my, but more technical, no it doesnt wash with me, I mean I! I think its the absence of stuff you can buy that upsets me- I want things and I want lots of them and I dont want to patronised with silly cleverly* marketed abbreviations. Nonetheless, my issues with technology aside I was forced to use technology against my will, I might add to watch Sky TELEVISION via an X-BOX! Madness! Its all going crazy. I have to say I was impressed, I have just about mastered BBC iplayer and 4OD, but Sky Player was a new one and I was impressed. You can watch it in party mode so you get a mini version(an avatar) of yourself and your friends who you can watch it with whilst in different houses/locations and chat to each other while its on! You can watch 27 different Sky Channels on demand and you can watch hundreds of live movies, programmes and sports too. So this is all available to you how and when you want and if youre like my friend you can abuse other virtual friends whilst watching sport online! Charming! You can imagine the wonderment and excitement, which was experienced by my technophobic self! Sky Player and X Box have astounded me not only for ease of use, but j with the general presentation and interactive-ness of it all! OK- for those more au fait with contemporary gaming this may not be overly exciting, but I will never stop being amazed by all this new stuff we seem to create as a society. Huzzah for Sky Player and X Box and making me understand!
