You must know the problem in hand to pursue the solution. Here are few common hardware and software errors and their solution.

1. Your computer is not starting: Checkout the data cables; it is better if you pull and reinsert them. Mostly there is dust issue, so better to blow some air in the sockets. If the cables are good, there can be an issue with the power supply. Checkout if power supply is working properly. Mostly computers have 20 and 24 pin supplies. If power supply is out of order, you can replace it with a new one. The process is simple; open the side lid of the CPU, unplug power supply and install new one. If there is no power supply issue, there can be an issue with the processor or motherboard. You need professional help to fix the computer in this case.

2. You hear beep when computer starts: It can be RAM or graphic card issue. You have to open the CPU cover, pull the RAM, clean it and reinsert it. The process should also be repeated for the graphic card. Hopefully, the problem will be resolved, but if not, you need to install new hardware in both cases.

3. Your computer is not booting: It means ROM initiates but operating system doesn't load. It can be a software or hardware issue. Restart your computer, press F8 and start computer in safe mood. Mostly Window's issues are due to some hardware failure or some device driver is not functioning properly. If the computer is started in safe mood then there is an issue with device driver. Sometimes, Window's files also get corrupt. This issue can be resolved by repairing Windows. You need to insert Windows installation CD and repair the corrupt files. If nothing goes well, you may have to install Windows again.
