This is because you are a few credits in front of your peers which lets you either, slack off or keep going forward. If you want to graduate a little bit before others, you should try hard but most like to party. So what kind of classes should you be taking when your a freshman? Do you know what your major is, if you are, lucky for you. Most freshmen will not know what they are going to major in, so you're already a step ahead.
Find your major and see what classes you have to take. This is where things get complicated because you need to take classes that are required for your major. Even though if they are not in the same subject or league of what you're majoring, you still have to take it. Well for instance, when I was a freshman I was majoring in computer science. Do you know what classes I took my first and second semester? Social Work, Theatre, Criminal Justice, Anthropology and other classes unrelated.
I believe that the school does this for you to find what you want. What if you're unsure of your major but you don't know how to pick. Pick from what classes you already took and it becomes easier. Maybe you liked the basics of theatre and you want to study it. Same thing goes for social work and the other subjects. You should try majoring in something you want to do and like to do.
Many people will not get the chance to do what they love so that's what you shall seek. This will either make your life more fulfilling or gloom. Well, if you think everything is okay, go for it! Do something you know you're going to have fun it but don't let that hold you back.
So how are college classes set up? You make your own schedule and it's a lot tougher for freshmen because you don't get first pick. You actually get last pick, that's why people who are in Advanced Placement have it easier. More credit means you can choose classes earlier. So when you schedule your class, make it as close as possible. This way you don't have a lot of time before classes. Here is another example, I took English and Communications together. Social work by itself and Theater on Saturday. Saturday classes are bad, in my humble opinion.
See what you like, look at your time and make sure you love it. Most likely, you will not be able to get the times you want when you're a freshmen so try hard! Have fun in college!
