Sunset is more than a pretty image when you spend your days and nights in a Puerto Vallarta house for rent, it's an occasion appropriate for a quiet personal celebration. Of course there is the spectacle of the vivid colors that hang over Banderas Bay and grow more intense before the sun slides away for the day. And there's the mystery of the dazzling "green flash" that pops as the sun drops below the horizon. In short, sunset is an experience.
As you become more familiar with the city, you'll undoubtedly discover your own favorite seat, the perfect spot where you can linger for a while and enjoy the show, enjoy a beverage, enjoy good company. The patio of your Puerto Vallarta house for rent is a good place to start your quest for the perfect sunset seat, and you may decide to designate it "sunset headquarters" for the duration of your stay. And why not? It has all the right attributes a view of the bay, a selection of cold beverages, a hot tub, and pleasant guests of your choosing.
You may decide, after an evening or two on the patio, that it's worth your time to scope out a few more sunset spots, and there are many in Puerto Vallarta. Those who have gone before can recommend one or two places that you might want to try on for size:
Some view spots are almost intuitive pull up a bit of sand on the beach (los Muertos is fine, of course, but you might find the intimate ambience at Conchas Chinas more to your taste)or on the Malecon.
Local restaurants afford a couple of different options for sunset watchers. You can find a place at La Playita Restaurant, set among the Lindo Mar Condominiums on the beach. These are rumored to be the best ocean-front seats in town.
As an alternative, you can opt to watch the sunset from an eagle's nest perspective. Le Kliff, south of town, sits high on . . . a cliff and the views are breathtaking. It's a good place for beverages and tapas and a wide-open look at the setting sun.
If you prefer a bit of night life with your sunset, visit El Faro Lighthouse Bar, a lounge on top of the lighthouse at the Marina. They open at 5, just in time to get the chairs arranged for some warm evening sky and cool jazz.
