Nursing Degrees - An Education For Your Future

When the profession of nursing was first introduced, it only required a candidate's personal interest and all the training was done on the job. This tradition is still going on in many hospitals and nursing homes, although most of the well reputed hospitals give jobs to only trained candidates. The profession of nursing is divided in three ranks with each having different responsibilities and therefore requires different levels of training. A nurse usually works for eight hours every day with two days off in every week which makes them work for 40 hours in a week. Nurses usually get highly paid starting from 10 dollars and goes up to20 dollars per hour.Certified nursing assistants, who are lowest in rank, do not require any specialized nursing degree; if you have a high school diploma, you can pursue your career as a certified nursing assistant after getting the training of few weeks. The second level is LPNs; they need a one year diploma or associate degree along with some practical training to start their career. The most senior nurses are the registered nurses; they require a bachelor or associate degree. These requirements are not placed by the government, it is just to meet the high standards that employer demands while giving jobs.BSN is a four year bachelor nursing degree offered by many accredited universities.
