Science Fair Experiment Ideas Made Simple

Science fair experiment ideas can teach you science concepts without having to be overly difficult. These types of science fair projects can be a lot of fun for students. It is all a matter of choosing a category that interests you; Astronomy, Biology, Zoology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Engineering, Environmental, Microbiology, Physical Science, or Mathematics. Once you have chosen a category of interest, you can then think of a topic that interests you within that category. For example, if you are interested in Microbiology you might want to do a project on mold.

One interesting science fair experiment you can do is to see which type of food will mold the fastest when left out. To do this, you will need several plastic containers to put the food in and various types of food to test, such as cheese, a piece of meat, such as ham, a piece of fruit, like an orange slice, and a piece of vegetable, like a tomato.

Place the items each in a different plastic container. Or you could place all the items in one large plastic container, but make sure there is space between the items so they are not touching each other. Next, you need to place the container(s) in an area where they will not be disturbed. Be sure they are out of reach of young children and have an adult check on the mold progress with you because some people are allergic to mold, and you always want to be careful. Once you see some mold start to develop on any one of the items, mark it down on the chart and be sure to dispose of it properly. Once each of the items has developed some mold you can compare them on your chart to find out which foods will mold the fastest.Next, you need to place the container(s) in an area where they will not be disturbed.
