subject: Japan and recent events [print this page] Japan and recent events Japan and recent events
With recent events in japan, and New Zealand it makes you re-consider the delicacy and how fragile life is, regardless of how the changes impact on it are man-made, or natural disasters. The fact is in a moment our lives can be turned around so quickly, so fast that there's nothing we can do about it.
But through adversity man as always moved on, moved forward and upwards again, I'm not going to argue the pros or cons of nuclear power, global warming etc, there for another blog, not for now. What I am saying in short that the scenes of devastation in these disaster areas, however bad, the people in the middle of them will move forward, they won't forget theses times, but they will use that human instinct of survival. With the help of foreign aid all these affected countries will start to rebuild their lives, because the countries that can help will, that's human nature to help those less fortuante than ourselves.
It's what we as humans do, we progress and we climb every mountain and mover on, my heart feels for all the unfortunate souls who are now suffering, but they won't be beaten they will face these challenges face on and win.
The almost instant news feeds now show 24 hour news on our screens, in a way these images bring home the truth so much quicker nowadays than say twenty or thirty years agao, when the news took some what ages to spread. Within minutes there is a mass of news channels showing pictures live from anywhere in the world, bulletins featuring someone actually in the middle of what is actually happening. This upto te minute information brings home the reality of what is happening thousands of miles away, continents away even.
The world as become so much smaller than what it once seemed, even with all the modern buildings and technology at our desposable, built and pioneeered to withstand so many different situations and occurrences. We still have no answer for mother nature and all she can unleash on us, the power mother nature has at her disposable does'nt bear thinking about, the recent disaters in Japan and New Zealand just enforce my post, that we can never beat mother nature, just that we have to prepare for as many incidents and all eventualities.
Again this brings the post back to human nature and it's history of never giving up in the face of some of the worst known predicaments known to man, and that's why man or woman will continue to move forward and upward.
