The DTEA Senior Secondary School is located in Lodhi Estate of Delhi. The school has maintained consistency in securing top ranking positions amongst the schools of the metropolis. Visionary P.H.S. Iyer started the school. The school has 7 schools in the various areas of the capital. In total, all the branches have 7,000 students and 700 teachers. The school lays emphasis on the development of academics and also co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The school also aims at the all-round development of the child. The school has excelled in various fields and won many prizes in inter-school competitions. These competitions were in the field of athletics, arts, drama, music, elocution and recitation.
The school has won innumerable prizes in various competitions that have been organized by Ramayan Vidya Pete, Geetha Ramayan Samsthan and Vivekananda Kendra. Every year students of class IX, X, XI and XII appear for the Special Test held by Olympiad Mathematics. This exam gives the students the confidence to appear in the board examinations. The students also take part in Inter-School General Knowledge test that is organized by the United Schools Organization. An information test is also conducted by the UN and UNESCO.
The school also conducts Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan Sanskrit Examination, Bal Bodh, Prarambh Pravesh, Parichay, Kovid etc. Examination on Gita and Ramacharita Manas are also held every year.
Students of class VI and IX are every year sent for open Merit Scholarship and for the National Talent Search Examinations. The school also has an NCC wing in the school, where about 100 students undergo training. In the inter DTEA Children's Day at DTEA Senior Secondary School, the school won the first prize in Essay writing and General knowledge competitions. The school also won the third prize in Tamil recitation and the rolling best performance shield.
The school also organizes Social service Week and Free Medical Checkup for the parents. Here the medical check-up is carried by a team of Doctors.
DTEA Sr Sec School, Lodhi Estate aims at making every child self-sufficient and self-confident. The students aim to face the world independently and courageously. The school was opened on 23rd August 1951 with its Primary Department. The school covers a total area of 1, 42,997 sq. ft. There are total 52 rooms in the school. There are six laboratories in the school. The school has a very well-established infrastructure.
