Unique Team Building Activities For Businesses

Team building activities can include events such as corporate training, lectures, and discussions; however, team building activities can also be enjoyable and fun while still encouraging growth and development in a team of employees. When a business makes it a priority to promote a healthy team building within its company, it is taking positive steps to help ensure the future of the company's success.Promoting positive team building skills within a company is accomplished by hosting events which encourage teams of employees to work together to achieve a common goal. There are a wide variety of events and activities which a company can host to support positive team building skills. One of the oldest and most commonly-used activities to promote team building is having a group of employees hold out their arms and catches an employee who falls back into their arms. This activity may seem clich; however, there is a reason that so many corporations have utilized this activity. This particular activity encourages employees to trust their co-workers and it also encourages employees to work together as a team to be supportive and to help one another out when a problem arises.Employee dinners where informal question and answer activities are held are also other good ways to promote communication and to develop the growth and the structure of employee team members. When employees have an opportunity to spend time together in a casual and relaxed environment, while still focusing on aspects of improving their work, the company benefits from this activity and the results that will ripple down like a wave of improvement as the lines of communication are effectively opened.Another activity which encourages team building for businesses is having the employees vote for the top employee of the month. This voting can be for superior attendance, exceptional production, jobs completed without errors or defects, and for top performance. Winners of the employee voting activity can receive a raise, a free dinner for two, a larger desk or office, or a performance bonus. Tangible rewards and monetary rewards are often the most appreciated rewards an employee can receive. Even in the company is a smaller company and cannot afford to give out huge bonuses or significant raise, making an effort to provide some sort of bonus or reward will be appreciated by the employees and will promote healthy competition and greater team building efforts.Another way to encourage team building within a business is to have teams of different departments compete against one another for performance awards and achievements. Different areas of production and assembly departments can compete with departments which produce another type or part of a product for the business. Whichever department has the least amount of errors in a set time period would be declared the winner of the competition. The winning team can be rewarded in an appropriate fashion, such as a celebration dinner or gift certificates passed out to each individual. These team building contests can also be held in customer service and accounting departments.
