Protect and Serve Police Gear opened its doors this past week. The new law enforcement supply store is filling a need in the Pasco County area. This is the first store of its kind in the area. The underserved demograpgic of law enforcement officers and public safety personnel is excited about the new small business. Both owners are working police officers in neighboring Pinellas County.
Protect and Serve owners, Cathi and Logan Long have a combined service record of more than 20 years in the military and law enforcement professions. Cathi served 10 years in the United States Navy and has over 7 years of street experience, she also has a Bachelors degree in Sociology. Logan served 8 years in the Army and has been a street cop for 7 years and is on a SWAT team. Logan has a Bachelors degree in Public Safety Administration and is seeking a Masters degree in the same.
"The knowledge and experience these two bring to the table is why this business will succeed," stated a local law enforcement officer interviewed during the soft opening.
Cathi stated, "We saw a need in the community and filled it. Being in public safety in these times is hard enough, we want to help serve those who serve the community." The Longs focus is law enforcement; however, they plan to serve Fire, EMS, and security personnel as well. Protect and Serve has recently had facebook give away promotions on their facebook page and just recently launched their web page: www.protectandservegear.com.
The new store is still building their inventory of police gear and will host a grand opening some time in April of 2011. Protect and Serve is carrying various tactical equipment from multiple manufacturers.The store offers a wide variety of products and equipment. Cathi stated, "We know the stuff we sell works, because we have used it ourselves on the street in real world situations." One of their in-store services will be Ultrasonic gun cleaning. Cathi and Logan are open to suggestions and requests from local agencies and personnel that will help to provide the best quality products and services to the public safety arena. The store is located at 6131 State Road 54 New Port Richey, FL 34653 in Elfers Square Plaza.
