As our world edges closer and closer to the brink of ecological, economic and political disaster, it may appear foolish to even speak of fearlessness. Never-the-less, we feel certain fearlessness is within everyone's grasp. How can we make this claim? Others have found fearlessness in seemingly impossible situations. If they could, you can too. Their fearlessness didn't come from positive thinking; they had discovered a secret that allowed them to see the universe in an entirely new way. Once they understood this secret, they lived a life of fearlessness.
The key to fearlessness is not a secret in the usual sense. No one is trying to hide anything from us; we're hiding something from ourselves. This "secret" is easy to uncover once we know where to look. The fearless people who have already discovered this secret aren't special, but they all held one thought in common. They all felt certain the universe was not what it appeared to be. They realized they had been conditioned by society from the time they were born to see things a certain way. They realized the thought system they had inherited was built on a deeply flawed foundation. They also realized the entire universe shares one consciousness that they called God.

What do spirituality and science have to do with fearlessness? Fear is caused by our misperceptions. Most of the world's belief systems are built on a flawed foundation that began when our ancient ancestors tried to figure out the natural world. They thought the good and bad things they experienced had to be caused by powerful beings. They reasoned that the world must be caught in a cosmic struggle between good and evil. Their misperceptions resulted in fearful ideas like sin, judgment, sacrifice and eternal punishment. But happily, scientists and spiritual masters have demonstrated that these ideas have no place in a quantum universe of oneness
You can enjoy a life of fearlessness in our chaotic world. We can cling to misperceptions that create fear, or we can replace them with an accurate understanding of the universe and our place in it. Quantum researchers and spiritual masters have discovered that nothing is as it appears to be. When we change our understanding of the universe, we change our life. That is the beginning of fearlessness.
