Progress is a general term that encompasses a variety of areas and its branches. In disguise of progress, technology has almost taken over the world. At this stage, I am writing this article with the help of technology. This is an advantage. Well to most people it is an excuse not to do things physically. The latest developments in technology is regularly detering the human to make physical moves. People today rely too much on technology and spend most of their time sitting. For instance, a couple who are both employed outside, gets ready for work, sit in their vehicle, get off at work, use the elevator to reach their offices, walks three steps and sits on their chair.
During breaks, order coffee and snacks, sits and eats. Lunch same. Afternoon same.
There is no forms of physical activity to todays human life. This is an open invitation to lifestyle diseases. Diseases such as hypertension, heart diseases, diabetes and so forth. The days of an average human is decreasing by the day. The medical bills are rising. Use of mobile phones, household electrical appliances, automobiles, elevators, computers, internet, teleconferencing are some of the reasons why people do not move much.
People spend heaps on new technology to ease their lives for efficiency, for increased productivity. It is nowhere stated that productivity is only due to adaptation of latest technology. Productivity is working smarter. Smartness comes from ones intellect. If one has a weak intellect, relying on machines will not help. No doubt it does make ones work easier. What's the point in making your work easier when you will not be there in the near future to enjoy your hard earned resources.
Living a healthy life is living a wealthy life. Instead of the airconditioners, utilising the natural cool breeze is what that is fulfilling. So friends, take a while and think about it, what is that you really want, playing sport with your child or buying your child a laptop who will then close him/herself from family and friends. It is high time that we made the right choices for both the better of oneself and also for the future generations. Enough of indoor activities, the real world is out there waiting to socialise with you, I am sure you do not need the social networking sites for companionship.
