eBay is a great place to sell things and make money. Once you get the bug and you've run out of stuff from home to sell, you'll want to find suppliers of items that you can resell. But what do you go for? What Should You Sell on UK eBay?

Research can come to your aid. Here are three steps that will you to determine what are best items to sell on eBay.

1. Try and find out what items are currently selling well on UK eBay

You can get lots of information about items that are selling successfully by looking at Completed Listings. Completed Listings are those listings that have closed - either because someone has bought it now, or because the auction duration has finished.

You can ask eBay to display Completed Listings from several places. For example, do a search on UK eBay using the keywords that cover the kind of items you're interested in selling. You will get back a search return showing the current listings that meet your enquiry. On the left side menus, you will see an optional box to tick which is called Completed Listings. If you tick this you will get back the listings meeting your search term that have ended. On Completed Listings, green figures are sales made and red figures denote listings that did not sell.

You can get similar data if you go into browse listings of any category or sub-category relevant to you and then select Completed Listings from the left side menu.

Or, using eBay's Advanced Search, you can look at the Completed Listings of a seller who is selling products similar to the ones you're thinking of selling.

All of the above methods are free, and only take your time. As an alternative, you can used paid for systems such as Hammertap, Blackthorne and Terapeak for this research into what is selling well.

2. Find out what are buyers searching for on UK eBay?

One excellent indicator of what is popular with buyers on eBay is by knowing what are the most used search words.

You can get this information from the eBay Pulse page. This will show you the top ten most searched words by category and sub-category.

eBay Pulse is free, but you can also access the popular search words via the paid services systems mentioned earlier.

3. Learn what are the most Watched listings on UK eBay?

On eBay, a buyer can keep tabs on a listing by marking it as one they want to Watch. They would normally Watch a listing if they have an interest in buying or bidding for that particular item.

Where a listing has a lot of Watchers, this means the item is popular and in demand.

You can see the listings with the most Watchers via eBay Pulse. You can also access this information on the paid services mentioned earlier.

Just to summarise, find out which products are currently selling well or can be found by popular keywords or are being Watched by the most buyers. These products are the kind of items you should be selling. List these products on UK eBay and you have a good chance that you will sell successfully time after time.
