Tiger Woods maintained several of the stellar form that produced a closing 66 at the Blue Monster on Sunday in Monday's first round of the Tavistock Cup in Orlando.

And this in advance of next month's Masters at Augusta where he would have the chance to win for a 6th some time and take his number of Major victories to 15.

Playing for brand new team with taylormade r9 super tridriverAlbany of the Bahamas alongside India's Arjun Atwal in a contest that happens to be expanded from two to four teams, Fairways and Atwal together shot a better-ball eight-under 64.

Best score of the day, though, was the 60 posted by Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell and South Africa's Retief Goosen for Lake Nona, one of many original Orlando teams, and matched by England's Brian Davis and American JB Holmes for Isleworth, the second of the two initial adversaries.

England's Justin Rose and Ian Poulter were next best using their 61 for Albany accompanied by team-mates Fairways and Atwal.

Isleworth led this informal, non-PGA Tour event with a cumulative 30-under score after Monday's first round with Albany just two strokes back and Lake Nona five off the pace and try his callaway x-24 irons.

The fourth team, another new one representing Queenswood of Surrey making it up of Darren Clarke, David Howell, Paul McGinley, Adam Scott, Soren Kjeldsen and Thomas Bjorn, can be 14 shots behind the leaders and may have their work cut out to make up some ground in Tuesday's final round of singles.

The teams are

Albany (Bahamas)

Arjun Atwal, Ernie Els, Trevor Immelman, Ian Poulter, Justin Rose, Tiger Woods

Isleworth (Florida, US)

Robert Allenby, Stuart Appleby, Brian Davis, JB Holmes, Lee Janzen, Sean O'Hair

Ross Fisher, Graeme McDowell, Retief Goosen, Henrik Stenson, Peter Hanson, Oliver Wilson

Queenwood (Surrey, UK)
