subject: Set The Scene [print this page] Set The Scene Set The Scene
To began writing an article or story, you must consider three key things..(1) Place (2)Scenery (3) Purpose for writing.
Why? The Place is important because it stirs the creativity on the inside of you.
This "Place" is a place of stillness that allows your thoughts to freely flow. You see, it's only when we are still can our thoughts freely flow. When you sit to write you don"t want to start writing the first thoughts that rise in your mind. Those are surface thoughts. Thoughts that are written from the surface of your mind are "thought of" by common people or in this case, "common writers" Your writing should be "thought provoking" causing the reader to think about what he/she is reading and began to provoke greater searching in themselves.
The Scenery should be a part of creation that allows you to focus and display a background that would stir creativity in you to reach deep within yourself to write. Setting the scencery for creative thoughts to flow requires that we search for the inner stillness in us that would speak what our heart hears. That place may be different for each one of us. We must create an atmosphere for writing. For example, my place of stillness is, preferably, by the water. Listening to the sound of the waves and the whisltling of the currents began to stir the flow of creative thoughts within me. Another place of stillness is, sitting in my favorite chair, by the window.
What are some of the sceneries you find that causes peace to flow in you? That may be a scenery that provokes you to write. The Scenerycreates a greater sphere of energy to express the words that would add more color to the picture that is being written in my minds eye.
Lastly, the Purpose for the writing is most important because your writing should be aimed toward an audience or a group that would increase them in wisdom, knowledge or greater understanding in some area of their life. So it is criucial to know your audience and target them with the way you write. Writing should be "words spoken from a platform on paper" Yes. You should see your audience or your readers sitting before you as you are expressing this prolific arraignment on paper. And the melody of the words when read should esclalate from within their spirit ....Now is the Time to Tap into that creative, expressive writer on the inside of you and began to aid others in understanding who they were born to be in a greater way. Write!
