When learning to play golf there are a lot of rules, forms and even simple things to remember that may sound like easy items that anyone could do. In reality, this is very untrue. Golf is one of the most difficult games to learn because of the requirement of the body and club becoming one on the course. During the learning experience there is a lot of attention paid to how to hold the club. There are three variations of where to hold the hands for the best shot possible. Though it seems like each swing is the same, if one slices left while another slices right and yet another heads straight down the fairway it is certain that there are variations in the swing.

The slice is created when the club face does not stay flat against the ball during the swing. If the face is inverted it will swing left. If it is extroverted the ball will fly right. Only when the face is flat will the ball fly straight. To begin the golf slice cure make sure that during set up the shoulders, feet and hips are square with the ball and directly aligned with the hole. This is the second step directly after deciding how to hold the club.

There are tips to keeping the face of the club straight. In some tutorials it is stated that there are two club faces to consider during the swing. The second is the left wrist. During the set up the wrists are straight with the club handle. During the back swing watch the hands. If the left wrist bends up creating a corner then the swing will inevitably produce a slice. When correcting this you want to flatten the back of the wrist and keep it in this position for the entire swing. Even the slightest waver of it will throw off the ball trajectory.

Practicing this over and over again is the best way to get a golf slice cure. Each time the club is brought up, take it to the furthest of the back swing and look at the way your hand is positioned. Concentrating on this will be immensely helpful as the days go on. After several swings resulting in the correct hand position take the next several just thinking about where that hand is.

There is truly no better way to correct a bad slice pattern, but once this is cured it will be easier for you to concentrate on other things that are valuable to the game like power and making a habit out of a hole in one.
