As with most other features though, this phone doesn't simply multitask, it multitask without detriment to the battery life.
Multitasking has become an essential part of any smartphone. Previously you would go from one app to another on a phone and nothing would be saved or kept in the same place when you returned. Now, you are able to switch between apps in much the same way you switch between windows (programs and files) on a desktop computer. Multitasking allows you to switch between apps as and when you please, between any apps you please, and keeps each open app as you left it respectively. For example, should you be in the middle of composing an email message in Mail on the iPhone 4, you may suddenly want to add a URL. So, you double tap to go back to the Home screen, and then tap Safari web browser, find the webpage and use the simple copy and paste touch controls to copy the URL and return to the message in MAil where you paste it.
In addition to multitasking, the iOS 4 OS also provided something that Android hand't yet come up with, possibly because the App Store respectively has a greater number of apps available for iPhone users. The idea was Folders. This simple functionality allows you to seamlessly select multiple apps which are then automatically placed into a Folder, which you can name. When you next need that app, you can find it faster and easier. Of course this isn't forgetting that you can use the Spotlight universal search to also instantly find an app.
The White iPhone 4 features a fantastic design and includes two cameras and the highest resolution display on the market, but beyond that it also has to offer great software, which admittedly it does. The iOS 4 is a powerful and highly capable operating system ready to run all those great apps available.
