Miss Genevieve Nnaji flew and Air France to Bydgoszcz, Poland to catch a connecting flight to New York on March 2, She was arrested by customs police at the airport upon arrival stating she did not have the necessary documents to be in poland.
Instead of detaining her at the airport unitl the next flight to New York was boarding they arrested her and put her in jail.
At first they ask for $1200 to be released. Within 2 Days they demanded $1600 to be released. Now they are demanding $2700 be paid to them to allow Genevieve to be released and continue on her way to New York
I have sent $800 to her but the polish police are demanding $1900 more. The Nigerian embassy in Warsaw Poland will not assist Genevieve in any way or help her leave the country.
Genevieve has called the Nigerian Embassy many times requestion assistance to leave Poland and continue on her way to New York. The Nigerian Embassy says there is nothing that can be done for her and she must pay the fees.
The Bydgoszcz customs police are holding Genevieve Hostage. If it was a simple fee for entering the country illegally then they would not keep raising the fees to have her released.
The Minister of Interier refuses to assist in this matter and says the Customs police does not fall under his control and gave the email address to the Bydgoszcz custome police. The email address for the customs police is.

The custome police are not holding Geneveive for a crime they are holding her for ramson. If she is in the country illigally then why don't they just put her on the next flight to New York instead of raising the fee to be released..
The American Embassy was also requested to assist Me Genevieve Nnaji becase Genevieve was on her way to meet with her fiancee in Hawaii and than return to Nigeria and get married.
The UN or european union should step in and froce the Polish Customs police to release Genevieve instantly and allow her to continue on her travel. She has committed no crime and landed in poland to catch the connecting flight to New York.How can a country be allowed to kidnapp travelers and hold them for ransom and the embassy's will not assist in their release
