It is important that we look after our planet, especially after it has already given us so much. We should be grateful for what it has given us and take good care of it. Most of us are aware of the situation the world is in and that it is slowly being destroyed by us. For years we have used up resources like there's no tomorrow and polluted the atmosphere as though there will be no consequences however the truth is that there will be a tomorrow and there will be consequences.
We are already starting to feel some of these consequences. The world is heating up fast and this is having a detrimental effect on many things, ice is melting and seas are rising, countries may in the future be swallowed up by the sea. Animals are struggling to cope with the new habitats they are being forced to adapt to. They are not like us, they can't just switch on the heating if they start to feel cold, however we seem to forget this. We are already starting to see animals becoming extinct and dying on a large scale.
It seems that the only thing people care about in this world is money, they don't care how they get money they just want it and will destruct and destroy anything that gets in the way. This leads me onto the topic of deforestation, how much longer will this go on for before people say enough is enough? These forests are the homes of hundreds maybe even thousands of different species, some we may not even be aware of and all we care about is making cheap burgers from the land. It is disgusting and I genuinely cant understand why other people cant see exactly what they are doing and how selfish they are being.
I think people seem to think that humans own the world yet we share it with so many other species, sometimes I wonder whether we deserve to be in the position we are in and whether or not another species would do a better job.
There are many ways that all of us can make a difference, even just small things we can all do in our homes will really help. These things wont take any time at all and you can feel good that you are doing your bit for the environment.
