How Nursing Courses Can Benefit A CNA

If you are the one with flexible, compassionate, strong hearted and gracious personality then there is a great future waiting for you in the field of nursing. Apart from the above qualities you should also be able to read people's mind and be able to stay calm in stressful conditions, to become a nurse. In early days there was only one type of nurse who had to perform all the duties but now there are specialized nurses to perform some specific duties. The main types of nurses include CNA (certified nursing assistant), LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) and a RN (Registered Nurse). The CNA helps the patient in performing all the daily routine works, like feeding, bathing, washing hands etc. It is their duty to give the prescribed medicine to the patient on the right time and keep a close eye on patient and report to the registered nurse if any unexpected change occurs in patient's condition. They work under the supervision of registered nurses. LPN is the higher rank of nurse than the CNA, they check and keep the record of patient's blood pressure, body temperature, pulse rate, blood sugar level and other vital signs. They also prepare the injections for the patients and inform the patient about the reaction of medicine; moreover they also take the blood samples and prepare the patient for some laboratory tests. They also work under the supervision of a registered nurse. A RN is the most senior ranked nurse in a hospital; they supervise the junior nurses and perform a vital role in the department of nursing. It is their responsibility to inform about the procedure of treatment to the patients and their families, they also give moral support to the patients and their families. If you want to become a nurse then you should get admission in one of the various nursing courses available. There are different nursing courses and certifications for the different types of nurses. CNA training can be completed in less than 3 months and after getting training you will be appearing in an exam to get your certification, another very important thing you should know about these trainings is that you only require a high school diploma to get admission in a CNA training program. The LPN needs more training so they are required to have a 1 year diploma or a 2 year associate degree and apart from that they also have to pass NCLEX-PN exam. This exam is based on the knowledge about the effective care environment, health promotion and maintenance, psychosocial integrity and physiological integrity. A registered Nurse is required to have a bachelor degree or a diploma in the relevant field and they also have to appear in a NLE (National Licensing EXAM). You can also become a registered nurse by getting promoted from a CN and while working in the hospital you will witness many such cases.Nurses can also gain some special training by taking admission in specialized nursing courses and become a specialized nurse to increase their earnings and change their working environment like they can become a nurse midwife after getting the required training and can take care of pregnant ladies.
