In my earlier article I wrote about the coming increases in gas and food prices. Why is this happening? There are a couple of thoughts being talked about on the web. The first thought Iis regarding the current upheaval in the Middle East. I will not get into the political issues of the Middle East which are vast and above me! Oil investors are watching what is happening in the Middle East and most of the turmoil is taking place in countries that do not supply the world market with oil. The exception would be Libya! So why has our cost for gas increased?
Libya supplies the world market with over 1.8 million barrels a day. Italy is the major customer of this oil. So why should that effect our price of gas? As of today Libya's oil production has been cut by 50%. Oil Investors are worried about the instability of the Middle East as the world market price of oil is fast approaching a $100.00 per barrel.. With concerns that the protests and political reforms being employed, will spread to the oil producing countries, this will lead to a reduction of the world's supply of oil. Saudi Arabia will increase their oil output to help alleviate the strain on the market. Will this help? Remember that Saudi Arabia is a target for revolt.
As instability begins to spread into Saudi Arabia, this creates a major concern for investors. If instability takes over in Saudi Arabia and oil production is cut, what happens to the US market? Who can make up the oil supply if tensions reach Saudi Arabia as they are the major supplier of oil to the US? As the second largest producer of the world's oil, do you think Iran will increase their oil production to help the US? I don't think this will happen as Iran is throwing out threats for Saudi Arabia to NOT increase their oil production as this lack of supply will increase the cost of oil to their benefit. So were does this leave the US Consumer?
An Expert Speaks
As I mentioned earlier there is a fantastic interview on the web that goes into detail about the instability in the world, and how it will affect all of us. The speaker is Lindsey Williams and he talks about the real truth, what is happening and why. The interview is about an hour in length. I highly recommend that you listen to what Mr. Williams has to say. The Future
As you move forward in 2011 think about how your purchasing power is shrinking. What does your job security look like for the future? If your over 50 years old, why would an employer employ you rather then a young face just out of school at lower pay. Job security is minimized when you reach a certain age. If you are part of down sizing by your company or your employer closes his doors, who will hire you? You see what the job market looks like today, will it change for the better tomorrow!? The future is knocking on your door, what will it look like when you answer? What back up plan do you have? There are so many opportunities available that will allow you to be dependant upon yourself.
Ask yourself a couple of questions. Will you seek a better opportunity for financial freedom or just do nothing? Your economic health is important, what are doing to improve your health? Do you believe by doing nothing your future will be better? Take the first step and look for opportunities that add to your life now, time is of the essence!
