Catherine David graduated with an honours degree in Design from Auckland University in 1992. In 2009 she graduated with a Masters degree in "Museums and Cultural Heritage" - a curating degree.
Catherine David started her NZ design career with a range of soft furnishings and bed linen. A collection of this range has been archived by the Auckland War Commemorative Museum, New Zealand. Catherine David NZ Design Limited now designs and manufactures a range of functional homeware products which are distributed throughout New Zealand and worldwide. The range covers a great number of materials and functions.

In her spare time Catherine David is involved in the art of Icon writing with a Russian art teacher.
