I love using Adobe Photoshop Elements & Adobe Premiere Elements to create things like video Christmas cards that combine photos and video clips. It's really easy to tag my pictures and video clips, adjust the contrast in my photos in Photoshop Elements, and edit my video clips in Premiere Elements. When I started digital scrapbooking it was because I wanted to scrap with less mess, streamline my pages, and create pages from scratch just like I did with paper scrapping. Photoshop Elements gives me the most versatility to do all that and more.
I can touch up my photos, upload individual photos or albums, and then send a link so my friends and family can easily view the pictures online. And I don't have to worry about running out of space because Photoshop Elements Plus will give me all the storage I need as my collection grows.
Adobe Premiere Elements lets me create custom home movies and slide shows, complete with credits, and easily burn DVDs that wow my family and friends. I can combine audio, video, and photos, and even time transitions to the beat of the music. It's a great feeling when things all come together and people say, 'How did you do that?'"
Photoshop also has built-in help as well as free tutorial usually included in the box. All you need to do is choose how you learn best and go that way. Personally I learn best from an in-person class or having an expert show me in person. When I have a question about how to find some obscure tool or how to make a command work I just choose help from the HELP menu.
Photoshop has been around since the 1980s when it was only used by professionals. It therefore uses terms from traditional professional photography and the commercial printing press trades. Often these terms are exactly the opposite of what you'd expect! The most obviously labeled tools are sometimes the worst way to do things, so read up below.
