Before considering the importance of technology in education, let us think about the lives of our forefathers. They had made revolutionary discoveries without the help of technology. They had no modern means of transportation, nor all the facilities of electronic equipments. They simply learnt by means of reading, travelling and creating new inventions which are of great use to us today.
It is only because of hard labor of our older generation and yester year scientists, great thinkers and philosophers, inventors and scholars that we are enjoying the fruit of their labor! Life went on smoothly for them even when there was no information technology. The students took active interest in studies, and devoted full time in learning (as there were no computers, mobile phones, TV, etc) participated actively in extra-curricular activities like games and physical exercise to remain healthy.
But as our world is developing fast due to IT, it has turned into a global village. Global communication is taking a new dimension; technology has generated a great impact in our society, environment and life. Since our children are the future generations of tomorrow, they must adapt to these growing technological advancements to keep pace with the world. Our society is transforming fast and technology has spread in every sphere of life. Especially, when we talk about education, it impacts arts, science, commerce, engineering, etc.
Furthermore, to understand how important technology in education is, we must realize that technology provides vast, rich, varied and infinite experiences to students. They possess computers or laptops which enable them to get in close contact with colleagues, teachers and professors for quick access to get reference to their related subjects. School students and college going youth generally prefer to possess cheap computer or refurbished laptops for their easy-going life. They can easily carry their used laptops from one class to another, or use cheap computers in their home for their school assignment or project completion. Many schools use cheap computers for this purpose as it is impossible to buy new computers in large numbers to install in classrooms, library, office, hallway or staff rooms. Refurbished laptops and used computers work excellently; also they are great money-saving devices.
The importance in technology in education can be attributed to the fact that through inter-active video lectures, power point presentations and live explanation of science topics, students have been able to develop a better understanding of various subjects. http://www.electrocomputerwarehouse.com
