The drug works by blocking the enzyme in the wall of a patient's stomach which secretes acid, thus, allowing for quick healing of the stomach ulcers and esophagus. Precautions and Side Effects of Aciphex The following are some of the precautionary measures one should observe while taking the medicine:

Aciphex should be taken with a glass full of water and can even be taken during a meal.

The drug should not be chewed or crushed in order to avoid any unpleasant side effects.

Follow the instructions given on the label religiously.

Take only the prescribed dosages and only for recommended time period. High dosage can make one susceptible to osteoporosis related fracturing of the hip, wrist or spine.
