Before You Launch Your Business -eBook review

Ruchira Agrawal is one smart woman. Not only is she an Intuitive, a fascinating concept unto itself, but she uses her smarts to move into the business world and help others move ahead with their lives. Specifically, she has written a book for Entrepreneurs, taking them from their "I have a dream" stage (pardon the plagiarism), to the actual decision stage.

In the best of circumstances, this journey is not an easy one. In her new book, Before You Launch Your Business, Ruchira recognizes the nuances of each stage of this journey, identifies each bump and potential glitch, issues every possible caveat, and finally brings the Entrepreneur to the point where decisions can be made with a clear mind and vision. The information is given with the intelligence and wisdom of someone who understands life and business, and the importance of them impacting positively on each other in order to reap successful outcomes.

Even though the title basically infers that the content will be a how-to book for a prospective Entrepreneur, there's really lots more to it. The book begins at the point where there is the birth of an idea. Ruchira looks at the dreams, the goals, and the person himself. Who is this Entrepreneur and how well does he know himself? Does he know his strengths and weaknesses? Does he know how to adjust his soft spots and become a stronger, more secure and knowledgeable individual, hence businessman? Lots of questions even before a venture is begun.

Ruchira not only recognizes the need and importance of these introspective exercises, but uses her personal background and professional experience to add credibility and validity to the discussion. As the CEO of InnerVeda Communications and as an International Intuition Expert, Ruchira certainly has lots of important things to say and has an interesting and unique angle.

What's different about this book is that it not only provides the nuts and bolts of how to "become a successful Entrepreneur," but it offers a combined personal development program along with the business route. There's a lot to learn, and many smart decisions to make if this is going to work. And Ruchira's goal is definitely to make this work.

She coins the term "purpose-rich," which presents an interesting perspective. If the Entrepreneur's purpose in undertaking a venture is rich in life's personal gifts, that makes him a "purpose-rich Entrepreneur." That means that his objectives are backed by integrity and consider the larger good for humankind; there are no selfish goals here. Of course, the reality is that a businessman wants to be successful and needs to feed his family. That's a given. But there's a lot more to think about, and Ruchira certainly draws the reader's attention to a larger scope of thought.

Here's an excerpted summary of the content, in bullet form.

Takes a look at the necessary entrepreneurial traits and mindset

Does an in-depth personal assessment of the aspiring Entrepreneur's passion, interests, strengths, weaknesses

Looks at important guidance tools that you can use in life and in business

Determines a purpose and passion based business idea

Determines if this business idea is suited for you and your lifestyle

Takes a look at some of the common fears and objections that stop people from turning their dreams into reality.

It's all there. The book also provides a website (www.purposerichentrepreneur.com) that offers a step-by-step process for the Entrepreneur to follow. Ruchira even discusses all the what-ifs in case the plans don't work out; what sort of safety net is important to create so that the fall is cushioned and the family isn't seriously affected, and so on.

For the Entrepreneur, prospective or already en route, this is an invaluable and important book. There are loads of books about building successful businesses, but none really prepares the Entrepreneur with effective tools and the right perspective. Before You Launch Your Business does just that.
