subject: How Do We Gain Knowledge? [print this page] How Do We Gain Knowledge? How Do We Gain Knowledge?
Throughout time, man's knowledge has increasingly evolved. It is through his curiosity that he is able to come up with ways on how to make life easier in the future to come. Through asking questions, man is able to discover breakthroughs in which out of curiosity (and a little bit of luck), he is able to invent technology which is a huge part of our life now.
The human mind is a very mysterious part of our body. It is only made up of tissues and water in which it can produce ideas, and integrate them through reality. The human mind is the one who thinks, while the human body is the one who acts on the thoughts. When man became civilized beings, slowly he becomes wiser, had developed tools necessary for survival.
Each and every one of us surely had gone to school. Schools are institutions which provide education to majority of people who would like to get some learning. As early as 4 years of age, we are sent to school by our parents so that we could learn the right kind of values that we should learn and acquire the knowledge necessary for us. By the time we hit high school and college, things would get more challenging as there would be harder subjects, exams, quizzes, projects that would come pouring in.
There are other courses in college which requires licensure exams after graduation. Examples are CPA Exams, Nurse's Licensure Exam, Engineering Exam, PhD Exam, just to name a few. Through that, a person is evaluated if he has gained enough knowledge and if deserving to practice his chosen profession.
In our everyday lives, we learn something and yet, no matter how we study, the knowledge we gained seems to be not enough. Some have the knowledge about cars and how they work, while some haven't got any idea about automobiles but they know how to carry out a surgery. Not all of us have the same knowledge. It would just depend upon that person if he would like to broaden his knowledge by studying different fields and interests.
