How Easy To Stop Smoking?
How Easy To Stop Smoking?

Could it be that you are hardwired to smoke? Is this activity something that has, maybe, been passed down from generation to generation in some way, almost as if you have no choice in life? Sometimes it feels as if this is the case, although we know that the act of smoking is neither hereditary, nor is it written in the stars that we must go through the torture of smoking. It is a fact however that many of us find it so difficult to quit once we have taken up the bad habit due to a variety of psychological and emotional reasons. Our brains are very powerful instruments as we know, yet they can be overpowered by certain triggers and by a process of conditioning, over time. It's almost as if the "sensible" part of our reasoning is being held hostage by those triggers and the beliefs associated with cigarette smoking in the first place. If this is the {case|situation}, how do you {stop|quit} smoking? If the war on smoking inside you is indeed already won by those negative trigger mechanisms and their associated powerful armies, is there any hope for you? Smoking cessation must be approached in a certain way, if you are to be successful. You see, inside of us we all have conflicting emotions, irrational fears and established beliefs that are not based on solid ground. When certain external triggers manifest themselves, such as a stressful situation, or even eating or drinking, they interact with certain beliefs, previous experiences and inbuilt fears to create a powerful drive which forces us to smoke. If we are to quit smoking we need to understand how these triggers and beliefs work and that they do not represent an automatic and irreversible course of action. We need to unlock the power of our mind and understand that we are perfectly capable of defeating all these negative and counterproductive actions and emotions.Once you begin to restructure and reprogramme your mind it's amazing how quickly you can defeat all this negativity. Indeed, you can get to the point, relatively quickly, when even the thought of lighting up a cigarette will fill you with horror and ensure that you never again relapse. You may well have tried to quit smoking by turning to patches, drugs, your own internal willpower and any number of other so-called solutions. If so, the likelihood is that you have gone through the withdrawals, the self-doubt, fits of anxiety and even anger. You're simply not approaching the problem correctly. Until you understand how powerful the mind can be and how you can have power over everything that you think, believe and do, it's going to be difficult. However, when you do cross that line, quitting smoking will be one of the easiest things that you ever accomplished. It's time to look at this from a different angle - the right one - and to understand that just because so many people say that "it's very hard to stop smoking," it does not mean that they are correct.
