The Five Aspects Of Wellness and fitness: Can You Be Fat ANT Fit?

Recent medical studies suggest that, contrary to traditional belief, it may be possible to be both fat and fit at the same time. The researchers refer to several key blood chemistry and pressure indicators, and asserts that these elements define the fitness of the individual. In other words, it found that people could be obese but still have healthy cholesterol, blood sugar, and blood pressure levels. But is good health just a matter of numbers and graphs? A conclusion should not be used unless the following 5 components of fitness are addressed.

1. Cardiovascular Endurance

Cardiovascular activity involves your heart, lungs and vascular system (circulation), all of which improves with regular exercise. Aerobic exercise is defined as a workout that is in excess of a minute and a half. This could be anything from a simple aerobics routine to a more advanced HIIT workout routine.

2. Strength of Muscles

Muscular strength is defined as the greatest amount of force a muscle can exert in a single effort. A proper strength training routine helps to build muscular strength. This is what is considered anaerobic activity.

3. Muscle Fortitude

Muscle fortitude refers to the muscle being able to continually do an anaerobic movement over a period of time. Generally this is done for less than 90 seconds before it is considered cardiovascular endurance.

4) Range Of Motion

Flexibility is all about being able to move your joints in the proper range of motion. By performing an effective flexibility regimen, you will be able to avoid getting hurt, and get more benefits from your strength training exercises.

5. Body Composition

Body composition consists of your relative percentages of muscle, bone, and water vs. the amount of body fat. The majority of research on being overweight examines whether or not a large amount of fat will cause any number of adverse health conditions.

The interesting thing about the 5 components of fitness is that each is important on its own but each affects the others as well. For example, your body composition can affect your cardiovascular endurance or muscular strength. Due to this fact, you must concentrate on getting better in all fitness areas.

Though it might be possible for a person to be both fat and fit, they will certainly still be able to benefit from regular exercise. If you concentrate on all 5 components of fitness, you will be on the right path toward fitness.
