The Profit Platform according to Mike Filsaime's webinar is based on the "Franchise Model" and claims that you will have a much better chance of succeeding using this franchise model then going it alone in your online business. Basically he is comparing his Profit Platform to McDonald's and Subway franchise owners and that you are almost guaranteed to succeed because of this.
The Profit Platform uses what he refers to as the Quadratic Formula'. He outlines that you start with a free offer with shipping and handling being the only charge to the customer, then once you have their credit card information, they are brought to a page that subscribes them to a monthly newsletter, mind you there is an option there to not take this offer, but the check mark is already checked to subscribe so if you don't happen to notice it, you will be charged a fee each month until you unsubscribe. Then of course, there are a couple upsells and your information is then passed on to a call center where you will be called and offered a higher ticket coaching program.
So, it's not enough that you bought his product for two grand, you are now offered his coaching program for an additional large sum of money. Shouldn't that be included if you are spending that much money to begin with?
Whatever your thoughts are on this practice of "forced continuity" I'm sure you will agree that there will be many people that would Well Known Marketer overlook that checked box and unknowingly subscribe to that newsletter and monthly fee, only to be surprised when they see a charge on their statement that they don't recognize.
This sort of practice is used all the time especially on trial offers, where you unknowingly sign up for something else and all of a sudden you have 2 or 3 charges that appear on your credit card. It's a pain to have to call and cancel something you didn't even realize you signed up for. It is typically included in the fine print that you are signing up, but how often do people actually read the fine print? Not too often I'm sure.
I guess that's why there are so many negative comments floating around online when you type in his name. If more people would do their due diligence before paying for something, I believe there would be far less people getting out their credit card so readily.
Now in all fairness, there will always be those people that call everything a scam simply because they have failed at something. But when you find pages upon pages of people complaining, that's when you have to decide whether you should throw caution to the wind and purchase the product anyway.....ultimately the choice is always up to you and you alone.
The bottom line is and always will be, there is no such thing as fast, easy money involving no work on your part. The sooner people realize this, the better off their wallets will be.
