Inviolate by Michael Link is the moving story of the emotional and psychological impact that a sexual assault has on Connie Woicik, an eighth grade girl who is trying to cope with the aftermath of being the victim of one of the most heinous forms of violence imaginable, and the healing that comes by way of an understanding therapist who uses her own past experience to lead Connie to acceptance and empowerment.

The novel also contains an intense parallel storyline that portrays the stark contrast between two men: Gene Gillian, a violent sexual predator who is able to hide his intense sexual urges and impulsive behaviors from even those closest to him; the other, Alan Thornton, is an upstanding, compassionate man who becomes one of Connie's friends later in her life, and who is falsely accused of committing a sex crime against a young girl.

An incident that occurred when Alan was a senior in college and became a mentor to a young girl later leads to his broken engagement from the woman he loves, and then continues to haunt him after that when he is suspected of molesting a young player on the girls' softball team he coaches.

Inviolate vividly portrays the fear and humiliation experienced by victims of sexual assault and the profound impact that this crime has on a victim's loved ones. Based in part on the experiences of women close to him, this intense work of fiction is a powerful vehicle by which the author reminds society of the unspeakable tragedy of sexual crimes against children and the fact that sexual predators are ubiquitous in American society.

Michael Link makes his home in Colorado with his golden retriever, Alegria. Inviolate is his first novel. For more information about Inviolate, go to www.inviolate-novel.com. Inviolate is available on Amazon Kindle, B-N Nook, and Amazon.com:Trade Paperback.
