subject: Mindset : Why, What and By When? [print this page] Mindset : Why, What and By When? Mindset : Why, What and By When?
Inspiration from Diane Corriette
I remember reading something by Jack Canfield that said the biggest challenges facing us today as entrepreneurs (according to research) are financial pressures, time pressures and the ongoing struggle to keep a healthy work/home life balance.
I know the pace of life for me in 2007 was just way too hectic and I knew if my life was going to have any kind of "normality" I had to make a change. I am now settled very much on what I want to do with my business online and how I am going to work towards bringing in a 5-figure salary every month by 2012.
I had to do a few things to get there
Downsize! I took a look at everything I was working on and decided what was staying and what was ending.
Commitment. Once I decided what I wanted to focus on I made a commitment for NOTHING else to get in the way (so emailing me to take part in a joint venture would receive a NO right now!)
Focus and vision. I created my 2012 vision and using Earl Nightingale's technique I write down on a card what I want to happen each month. I have my vision of what I want to come into my life and I allow outside support (from my Creator) to help me get it.
I had to focus on taking massive consistent action and have enough faith to leave how it was going to happen to a source outside of myself. I answered the "Why" "What" and "By When" questions.
Now here you are in Blog Success and my question to you is "Why are you here?" "What do you want to achieve?", "What are you prepared to do to get it?" and "By When do you want to see the results?"
You have all the tools and help you need to succeed with creating a blog that brings in a full time income (if you want that) now the rest is up to you and your results will be in direct relation to how much you put in because you will get back exactly what you put in.
Never under estimate your mindset when it comes to succeeding online because you will fail before you even start if you make the mistake of ignoring its importance. You may find the hottest niche with thousands of hungry buyers all waiting to jump on whatever you are about to sell. But if it takes you 10 months to release your product because you don't believe it (and/or you) are not good enough then you have nothing.
If you can't get yourself through the moments when you are "too tired" or "too busy" or (heaven forbid) "just want to finish watching this tv show" then you will have an uphill struggle or you won't make it.
In those moments you need to tap into your commitment and your vision. You need to remember why it is you joined and what it is you will get out of turning on your computer and getting on with it.
Is it easy? Of course not. If it was easy half the population would be mega rich by now. It's going to take something from you to make it happen but don't worry because the Blog Success team are here to kick your butt too!
Whatever you do avoid under estimating your mindset!
Avoid thinking for one second that you don't need to read and/or focus on this stuff!
Even if you are the most positive person on the planet you will still have moments when you just don't want to blog and it will take more than just being positive to make you get up and do what you need to do.
So stick with me kid and together we will get there. What I can promise you is that before long blogging will become an addiction. It has for me and now I love it. It took a little while to get into the habit of regular blogging but now I have I could not imagine a day going by without logging on to add something to my blog.
My assignment for you (should you choose to accept it) is to go over the three points above and look at whether you slow down/stop doing unproductive things. Then commit yourself to your blog and your time here at Blog Success and finally start thinking about what having a blog that pays you a full time income can do for yourself and dream big.
Feel free to share anything related to this in the forum with me.
Stay focused, stay committed and stay in (consistent) action!
