Motivation for working out can come and go. At some time in your life, you may have been super keen to work out. You may have woken up and looked forward to working out, or at least, looked forward to doing some form of physical activity. You may have had some good workout motivation getting you up and working out.
However, you may now be in the situation where you're finding it really hard to get the motivation to do anything that requires you to get sweating. That's pretty much where I was in my life, until recently anyway.
I used to really enjoy working out. I was fit and slim. Then, I don't quite know what happened, but the thought of working out just made me feel overwhelmed. I packed on a lot of weight and felt absolutely miserable. I could no longer fit into my clothes, and walking up and down stairs made me feel like I was about to have a heart attack. My work out motivation was at an all time low.
I tried to think of anything that would get me up and moving again. I tried talking to friends and family to see if they could help get me motivated. I tried getting a friend to come with me for a walk. I tried countless diet pills. No matter what I tried, I couldn't seem to get back into working out.
Then it occurred to me that it was the way I was thinking and feeling that was preventing me from getting back into working out. The way I thought about exercise was acting as a barrier. Working out isn't awful. At least, it didn't have to be, and I had been in the frame of mind where I liked working out. I needed to get back into this positive frame of mind about exercise to get me back into working out.
I tried weight loss hypnosis. However, I found it hard to put myself into a relaxed state of mind and stay there for the full half hour. My mind kept on wandering. So I tried subliminal messaging.
When I first listened to it, I didn't think it was working. But I kept on listening to it anyway. Listening to the sounds of the beach and the rainforest is a pleasant way to fall asleep. I still listen to subliminal messaging now to help me get to sleep.
After a few days, I started to notice that the thought of working out wasn't as depressing as it used to be. I could feel that motivation to work out start to build inside of me.
Subliminal messaging isn't an instant magic cure. But it can help get you back into doing some form of exercise. Just realise that you're still the one who has to get up and move. Subliminal messaging just makes this easier to do.
