When you're stuck - distinctions to the rescue
Exactly what may be a distinction?
One way to define a distinction to be a feature which sets it a step above the rest that may be alike in many ways. A lady of distinction is a lady who is not like everybody else in some manner, better, more, above them.
A different way to look into distinctions is that it's actually a concept or occurrence and maybe even abstraction. (explanation: a general quality or characteristic, other than concrete realities, specific objects, or actual instances. )
I am going to talk about the latter strategy for looking.
We could say that distinctions are weird: they never emerge in any respect right up until identified, and once spotted they are everywhere.
Here is an example, in 2000 I had to buy a vehicle. I wanted a used vehicle, and I also wanted a red color car. Perhaps you have realized, I didn't know a good deal regarding cars.
I found a man who buys cars and trucks for used car lots and put in a purchase order: I'd like a red car and I also would like it to have a price tag approximately 3 grand.
After a few days the person contacted me and announced: We now have three vehicles that you should check out. I walked to this location (bear in mind, I didn't possess a vehicle!) and looked at the 3 cars, all different tones of red. One was a little bigger than the other cars. Just what make? I did not know. What model? I didn't know.
I picked out the shade of red I liked most and then he prepped the vehicle for me.
I inquired what car it was and they answered it was a Nissan Maxima. I was pleased. I had never before seen a car exactly like that, I did not even know Nissan existed, and so I felt really exclusive and lucky.
My first drive in the new car was on a freeway towards the large market in some distance. I counted fourteen Nissan Maximas in all shades on the short 4 mile section of this highway. It looked like each and every vehicle must have been a Nissan Maxima. I even spotted a few standing on the street, off of the freeway.
I acquired the distinction: Nissan Maxima, and now I could see it just about everywhere.
That's the dynamics of distinction.
Why's this approach helpful to you? Simply because the majority of mastering is a lot like this: you stare and you aren't able to find it. You are staring at the thing you want to understand: and you can't understand it. And at a crucial moment you begin observing it. And you ask: So why didn't you just tell me? Right?
It is possible to solely observe that that you have already learned. Distinctions grow your universe and give you capacity to unstuck and get things done.
