Then, I ask, "do you watch television?" Television advertising, talk shows, news broadcasts have riddled our brains. Gaming does the same thing. (My opinion only).
Many of us do not "think."
If you understand atts, then your life can be happier. You may not believe me, but people will provide information, advice and help without your asking.
Let me give an example. You have grocery shopped.You've arrived at the cash register.. Theclerktook the money. She threw money down on the counter. At first, you became angry.
Then, you compliment her (truthfully). "You have a beautiful blouse on today."
You have taken charge of atts and made a change.
There is a sudden smile. Energy not witnessed before. "Why ,thank you," she said. You leave the store.
No, you did not like the moneyslammed on counter. But, she might havehad a difficult day. Perhaps,there had been a divorce or death in family. Possibly, she mighthave been a single mother, worried about child at home..
Sometimes a bad att will ruin your day.
Instead of reacting, you caught the att and dealt with it in a positive manner.
A friend of mine had worked in a newspaper. When he clocked in, the foreman would toss his time card on the floor.
One night, after his shift had ended,he could notlocate his car.He said, "I looked up and down the street at 2 a.m. and could not find my car." Later, he discovered that hiscarhad been parked in a fire station's driveway.Printers had moved it.
Another evening at the newspaper, oneof his friends said, "Did you know that Jack hates your guts?"
The man told me, "We had just clocked in at 6 p.m.This negative emark had destroyed me." The next evening, I asked him, "Did you find out why this printer did not like you?"
"No," he said. "I did not know Jack - but, I was determined to ask him why he did not like me. But, you know what. He talked about his hobby."
"What was his hobby?" I asked.
"He is a rock collector," my friend said.
Every night after that, the two of them talked about rocks.
It is my belief - that if youwork with atts - - instead of reacting,the outcome will be better. And, one can be much happier becauseyou have not let others tug at your self confidence.
