The HTC Touch HD in many people's eyes sit at the top of the HTC Windows Mobile range right next to the HTC Touch Pro. The name should express the display capabilities without any further description to what the display can do (i.e. High Definition). The 3.8 inch WVGA display (480x800 pixels) alone goes to show that this mobile phone has superior multimedia capabilities compared to any other mobile phone on the market. This amazingly massive display paired with an astounding 5 megapixel camera just lets you watch everything through the screen like as if you are looking through a very clean window.
This screen also gives you that extra sensation of watching a movie in the cinema if you were to upload any videos onto the Touch HD. The intuitive TouchFLO 3D user-interface makes browsing the web a joy. Double tap the screen and the Opera browser zooms in smoothly to your chosen web page. Then simply swipe across the screen with your finger to scroll around web pages quickly and effortlessly. This vibrant TouchFLO 3D user-interface works equally well and responds perfectly to your finger gestures when scrolling around the Integrated GPS powered Google Maps (never get lost ever again).
I still wander though whether the interface for the GPS is better than that on an Apple iPhone 3G. I personally have never owned this spectacular Touch HD, and I have also played around with the iPhone alot more than the HTC Touch HD. For some reason the iPhone seemed to capture what I look for in a phone. Yes it may not have video recording capabilities like any other recent camera mobile phones but I am sure there is a program that one can download that will set up the iPhone to do so. Right back to the HTC Touch HD.
It also has an FM Radio and HSDPA internet capabilities, which allows you to use this mobile phone to downlink at 7.2mbps. Now that is very fast; I belive the saying is, "broadband in the palm of your hand." Moreover listening to music using HTC's multimedia player is a breeze. It's very simple to use due to the fact that the inteface is layed out as you would want and expect it to be. Also its 3.5mm audio jack makes the Touch HD compatible and connectable with almost any audio equipment available on the market. Maybe a docking station should be developed for this mobile phone kind of like the docking stations for the Apple iPod.
Measuring just 12mm in depth, the HTC Touch HD is thin for a powerful Windows mobile device. Anyone who has previously used a windows based mobile phone will know on avergae how thick they are. However this is mainly due to the omission of a slide out QWERTY keyboard like with the LG KF900 Prada 2.
In conclusion the HTC Touch HD with its massive screen and futuristic multimedia capabilities, has in no doubt deserved to be the best-selling, web browsing, email, office, movie and music device this Christmas and New Year period.
