How to Get Website Traffic Using Hidden Sources

Okay, we have made it to the home side of our 6 sources for getting traffic to our website. Today is day four and we are going to discuss how to uncover some hidden traffic sources. These sources are not necessarily secret, they are more like in the cushions of the couch, you just have to know where to look for them and how to find them.

House flipping is very popular and I have seen many a television show where people are making hand over fist, buying homes cheap, fixing them up and then reselling them. The official term is called flipping. Until recently, I had no idea that people also flip websites and like homes, when people want to sell a website fast, all of the best data is on display.

The top place that people go to flip websites, is a site called Flippa. On this site, you can find all of their pertinent data letting you know from A to Z, where they are getting their traffic from, how much is coming from each source, how much money they are making and where the money is coming from.

Here's another advantage to using Flippa. You can get a fully functional business that is already making money. That comes with the website, customers, mailing list, training and in some cases many more extras.

The Alexa website has become the standard for measuring how popular a website is. This site also gives you great information. You can pretty much enter any url at Alexa and it will not only give you the top traffic sources for a site, but you can also find out the top 10 keywords that are sending them the traffic and the demographics of their visitors.

The last site that we will touch on today is SiteMeter. This one is a little different in that it can't be used with any site, but if you happen to come across a site that displays the emblem you can get all of their traffic data sources just by clicking on the emblem. Once you have their data, you will know whether or not you want to also try and get traffic from some of those sources.
