Time and again we stand helpless before nature's might as if nature is telling us that we might have the technology to take us to the moon and the knowhow that one day we might cure many diseases yet we stand helpless before its brilliant manifestation of power.
All we can do is watch with disbelief wondering why. Nature is right, nobody can question that. We should not question its purpose or wisdom. There has to be a reason yet the answer keeps evading us. Nature is a cruel teacher; it gives us the test then teaches us the lesson, if we are at all capable of learning that lesson.
Is earth angry? Have we done something to justify such a vicious retaliation, if i may call it that? Is nature reminding us of how vulnerable and insignificant we are? Is nature angry at something we have done? Or is it simply a slap in the face to remind us to keep things in perspective. The answer could be all of the above.
We can spend years trying to find out why and honestly we might never find out because we are looking for answers in the wrong places. The fact remains that we are after the fact people, we can explain how it might have happened however,we will never be able to stop its constant reminders.
Many of us will say that god is angry and give a thousand reasons why. They will say that our sins are the cause of this and that we have steered ourselves away from the ways of virtue;others will follow the scientific reasoning to explain such a phenomenonusing numerous scientific models to show us why.
The truth is still out there however; nobody can contest the fact that we have contributed to this. Nature told us many times not to disrupt its harmony; it gave usmany precious gifts that we have repeatedly squandered in the name of advancement and fictitious progress. This progress has come at a very high price. Pollution and the global warming is not how we should show our gratitude for the ultimate gift of perfection. Nature is perfect and has always corrected its mistakes. We just decided to interfere with its course with arrogance and ignorance.I guess we have never learned not to poke the hornet's nest.
Will the magnitude of nature's anger increase? Are going to learn something from its lessons or is nature simply crying because we have failed to live in harmony with it. Time will tell.
