SAAB and Mini Break Their Own Mold With New 2011 Cutting Edge Designs

There are basically two brands of cars who specifically manufacture vehicles for those who want to drive something different. For decades,SAAB has been the industry's leader in producingnon-stereotypicalcars. What started out as an aeronautical manufacturer, the company branched off into the automotive industry. If you look closely in the 9-3 models, you can see how the designers always kept tied with their roots with the sleek aeronautical body designs. In 2010, when GM told SAAB that they were planning on phasing out the company, SAAB stepped up to the plate and decided to go independent.

It's been a long time coming, but they did it. This year, SAAB is releasing one luxury convertible per day called the 0-3 Independence. This beautiful orange convertible is sure to turn heads and spark interest in those who want to know what number the car is. With only 366 of them being produced, seeing one might be like catching a rainbow on the edge of a storm. You never quite know when you will see one, but when you do you feel happy and the experience takes your breath away.

At the Geneva convention, SAAB introduced a new concept car to the world. Appropriately named "Phoenix", this gas-electric hybrid was a show stopper. With the silver hood of the car resembling yummy thick icing on a cake, one can only hope that this car makes it to production. Business Analysts all over the world are harping on SAAB about their low sales projections this year, but SAAB isn't worried about that at all. As always, they are marching to the beat of their own drummer and continuing with designs from their innovative creative team. Perhaps SAAB's Phoenix was their prophetic vision of the future.

Another car that is breaking the mold is the new Mini Cooper Countryman. This roomy four door model of BMW speaks to the crowd that needs a little more Mini. Optioned with both front wheel drive and all wheel drive, this luxury car is sure to attract moms and dads who want to be different. Mini Cooper is breaking even their own mold by introducing this car to the American market.
