Satellite TV Providers Neglecting Senior Citizens

Senior citizens are our elders and we all respect them. In fact, we try to help them in whatever way we can. In this regard, even the corporate organizations are no less. Most of the companies come up with varying schemes and offers especially for elderly people. Even different satellite TV providers in the US have brought different entertaining channels so that the elders of a family are also entertained to the fullest. However, DirecTV, a leading satellite TV provider in USA seems to have backed out when it comes to honoring their needs. Yes, yet another complaint that has poured in against the satellite TV giant is that it doesn't care for the requirements of senior citizens and turns out to be a deaf ear, when they ask for any explanations or reasons for a certain deceitful act.

Satellite TV providers in America, have no doubt, offered the best of entertainment opportunities to consumers. But it does not mean that this gives them freedom to do anything. Well, most of us are aware of different scams and malpractices that DirecTV has been following. And with this complaint once again, it seems that the company has not changed its route, but is still misleading consumers in more than single ways. One of the subscribers of DirecTV has alleged that the company unethically charged his father and didn't even deliver the DVR receiver.

This father is a senior citizen of the country and has every right to question anybody when he feels that something is going wrong with him. The DirecTV installation was done at this elderly subscriber's place long back, but he did not get the DVR receiver. Moreover, he was asked to pay more money, which he paid. Then his son asked him to enquire about the DVR. When he called up DirecTV customer service representative, he was informed that that he will have to pay more money about $250 more, which shocked the elder citizen. When he asked the reason for the same, the rep failed to provide any answers. Finally, the son called up and faced similar circumstances, which was really upsetting. The customer felt very bad and is of the view that when DirecTV is not bothered about senior citizens needs and is neglecting them, then why should he recommend DirecTV to any other subscriber?

This incident has again proved the fact that DirecTV is just bent upon charging huge fees to its subscribers. These activities are unethical, which should be immediately stopped. But apparently, the company is continuing with its goof ups. Had it been able to provide a satisfactory reason to the elder citizen and his son regarding the charges and for not delivering the DVR, then it would have justified its stance. But since it just tried to avoid customers, it is clear that probably this was another scam to deceive people and drain them. Certainly, this is not expected of a brand company like DirecTV.
