If you're aiming to lose waist fat but still add muscle, you're basically telling me that you would like to get cut up.
I don't blame you, being cut is the in thing now a days. It used to be, everyone wished to get big. Today, most of the people need six pack abdominals, outlined arms, and to just look vascular and toned.
to look toned but still have muscle, you have got to confirm your blubber levels are low or else those cuts are not going to be observable. Also, having too much fat and beefing up muscle may some times make you look more bloated because the gained muscle may begin to push the fat out more .
What I'd do if I needed to gain muscle but still Lose gut fat
a few years back I was actually in this very predicament. I saw that my stomach was protruding a bit and I would have liked to dispose of it.
All the so called experts in the gym I spoke to claimed it was nearly impossible to do. They swore up and down that you need fat on your body to increase muscle. Sitting one night I said to myself how the hell are the two connected?
The only concept I could come up with is that when the body is in a fat-burning mode, more energy is needed and less would be available to build muscle. If that was the case, then I'd just supplement that energy by eating completely healthy ( which always boosts my energy levels ) and increasing my protein consumption to allow for quicker muscle repair.
My exercise routine to Lose Belly Fat and increase muscle!
From my experience, lifting weights with the objective to build muscle and doing heavy heart exercises in the same day is counter productive. If an individual does heavy lifting and exhausts all his energy supply that comes from carbohydrates and sugars, the body then tends to turn to fat for energy. After it's used up all the fat energy, it starts to break down muscle.
You see why I don't agree with doing heavy cardio and lifting in a single workout session? The chances of my body breaking down my muscle and using it for energy are really high when I am doing the combo.
Instead, I split up my training days appropriately. Two days out of the week i did heavy cardio. I'd do things such as get on the elliptical machine for 20 mins ( I adore that machine because it's so low impact ), then I'd do my jump rope routine which truly works on explosive muscle movements by running on the spot and other tricks.
Another 3 days a week I'd target weightloss. One day I'd work on my chest, back, and ab muscles. The other days, I'd do shoulders, bicep and tri-cep muscles. The 3rd day, I'd spend an entire day doing legs. I really like to spend a complete workout session doing legs because your legs are such huge muscles. Working these huge muscles triggers the body to release more testosterone. One of the important reasons men have less fat than women naturally is really because we have higher degrees of testosterone.
eventually, on my 6th day I'd do assorted kinds of plyometric exercises. The great thing about these exercises is that they need fast bursts of energy.
regard it like an auto. If you slam on the gas, you will burn more gas right? But if you stay on cruise control, you will preserve more.
I think of it as the same for plyometrics, the quick spurts of energy burn more fat.
