March Madness betting punters might not have a heavier task than to try and handicap college basketball, where things are always unpredictable and anything can happen. That is why we want to make it a whole lot easier for you with this tips and hints with how we think this is going to play out with the rest of college hoops season. Because March Madness betting can be quite a science, we want to break it down for you.
The First Tier
Duke
This defending national champion has exposed their Achilles heel and can be pushed around in the long run but they still have one of the best inside-outside duos in the country with Kyle Singler and Nolan Smith however, if they get super-freshman Kyrie Irving back in the line-up, they will definitely the favorites to cut down the nets in Houston.
It wouldn't be bad if they Dukes are going to repeat but only two teams have repeated in the last two decades (Duke 1991-1992 and Florida 2006-07) and we're not sure how Irving could get back to court.
Texas
This year the Longhorns are playing much more like a team and they also have the country's top scorers in Jordan Hamilton, who even shares the ball this year. Tristan Thompson and Cory Joseph, a pair of freshmen from Canada are playing big minutes and Thompson is giving them an impressive post presence. It would definitely give them something to frown about if they wouldn't be able to make it to the Final Four. They would still be the pick of some punters in March Madness betting.
Kansas
It seems that Kansas are gaining a lot of popular following, being the deepest team in the country they have 10 players averaging at least 13 minutes. The Morris brothers, Markieff and Marcus, Thomas, Robinson comes off the bench to give Jayhawks flight but the x-factor is none other than Josh Selby. The Kansas team still leads the nation in field-goal percentage and the freshman guard, Selby, is as fierce as he can get but he takes a few bad shots. It is definitely looking quite good for them this season.
Ohio State
The Buckeyes have taken broken down their basketball tactic into one simplified formula: throw the ball inside to super-frosh Jared Sullinger, spread the shooters around and let it fly. At least it has worked so far for the Buckeyes and it will work deep towards March but something to worry about would be that the three-point shots will stop falling at some point and it only take a single bad shooting night. But there aren't a lot of teams that can guard Sullinger one-on-one, so it would be quite interesting to see how the Buckeyes fall.
And that's the first tier predictions for you, it seems that it will be quite a grueling battle between these teams. March Madness betting enthusiasts must be racking their brains out for their game picks. Always remember that despite predictions there are a lot of unexpected things happen in these games and that is where all the excitements and thrills come from! Are you ready for some March Madness?
