Personalized Websites are Crucial to a Successful Home Based Business

By Michael Griep

If you've searched the reputable home based businesses you've seen a variety of websites and capture pages. The goal for everyone is to have your prospect land on your site and not have the desire to continue searching. Landing pages are named for that reason. This requires a professional, personal message, and appeal to hold your prospect. I'll share a few tips to aid you in your website design and creation.

The Goal is to Brand Yourself

Most home based businesses have a common website which all team members receive once they join. This website should have sizzle, but also should clearly outline the products, services, compensation plan, and vision statement of the business. What you'll need to do is produce a landing page which precedes the business website. This page should aid you in branding yourself as a home based business professional, and someone people would like to enter a business relationship with. At minimum you'll want a photograph of yourself and an audio testimonial describing yourself. Who you are, your background, and why people should join with you. If you're more technologically savy, a video containing the same information is far more powerful. This begins the process of branding yourself to the website. Successful home based businesses rely heavily on persoanlized landing pages.

Keep it Clean, Professional and Direct

The average person looking for a home bsed business will browsw several websites and spend only seconds on each one. Again, your goal is to have them land on your page and keep them there. Websites which are professionally designed should have a clean, crisp look and be free of unimportant clutter which only distracts from your primary message. If using a photo, dress appropriately and smile. If shooting a video, do the same and try to keep your message to about a minute. If it's too long, you won't hold most people and they will simply click off without opting in to view your business.

Test More Than One Website

The money is in the list, which means the money begins with opt ins. Just as you test and modify your advertising campaigns, you'll want to test more than 1 website. A good way to do this is to simultaneously run 2-3 websites, and using the same advertising, determine which site is creating the most opt ins. Sometimes, it is as simple as placement of your content or picture/video which makes the difference in conversion rates. Try not to be subjective as to what you feel is the best. Let the number of opt ins be the determining factor as to which website you finally decide to post.

Standing out from the crowd and having landing appeal is the goal to branding yourself in your home based business. Websites are your first impression to potential prospects and are critical to your success. Make this a priority, and you'll be well on your way to a successful home base business.

Good Luck
