Before you build a storage shed there are a couple of things you need to take into consideration such as the size you want to build, design, fondation and then there are the rules.

This is where alot of people end up with problems. You see just because you live in the city does not mean you do not have to follow county ordiences.
Now that you have dealt with most of the rules; and you have your houseing comissions approval,seen if you need building permitsand the clearances you need to have and so forth. Its time to get down to the fun part finding plans, getting the material needed, then building your storage shed.
There are all kinds of different web sites that offer shed plans so check them out but make sure to find one that will do the material list for you because this can be some what difficult. Make sure the design is something you will be able to deal with as long as you have your home because you dont want to get a couple of years down the road and not like the design. When you are looking at shed plans there are a couple other things to take into consideration, such as do you want to be able to use the rafters to hang things from, do you want windows if so how many, then there is the door do you want one door or two and how much clearance do you want between the door frame.
If you have the tools required for cuttingthe wood and building the actual frame then it should be rather easy to build your shed. And a little bit of construction experience would be valuable but not necessary.
