What are the keys for an effective learning in mathematics?

To mention few, the key for an effective learning in mathematics is:

-to consider students as active learners

-to start from student level and shift this level afterwards to a higher ones

-to learn math concepts and relate these concepts to real life situations, then mastering the math skills needed in problem solving.

-to encourage and motivate students to understand and apply the related math content in a familiar environment.

-to promote quality learning experiences for students and have a positive impact on their studies.

-to give opportunities for students to investigate ideas and to explore concepts through problem solving, then guided carefully into the math principles/ rules/ formulas involved.

-to promote a balanced program in math classes and crach courses

-to build self-confidence and increase math performance

-to integrate the right technology regularly into math activities

When I think of mathematics courses from which I retained the most, I recall motivated teachers who were passionate about the course material being taught. Their interest in the material not only encouraged me to want to learn mathematics but showed me that mathematics can be beautiful. I always strive to engage my students in the courses I teach and bring mathematics to life for them as it was for me. In order to do this I try to find aspects of the material that interest me and share these with my students. I also encourage my students to share aspects of the material that interest them.

According to my experience in teaching higher math classes, I see clearly the struggle of math students and the huge failure that they face in their studies. The main reason is not related to the material as being hard to digest, nevertheless, it is related to teachers who can melt the freezing snow around the minds of such students. The above mentioned strategies when adopted regularly by math teachers will change student's performance and improve their math level nstantly. As a result of this change, student's attitudes and concerns would change, student's lives would change, their economy and the society living within would be dramatically affected as well.
