Winter weddings are also a good place for decorating with darker colors. Dark blues, burgundy, and emerald all fit in nicely with a winter theme, and you can go for more luxurious fabric for the bridesmaids gowns, such as velvet. Even the brides dress can be different than the typical wedding. Brides may want to consider a heavier fabric for their own gown, such as velvet, a dress with long sleeves, or one that has white fur around the edges.
Another advantage to a winter wedding is that they can be a good excuse to save money on flowers. Instead of the typical pastel colored flowers, you can instead use lots of greenery such as pine needles and holly. You also may not want to use as many flowers as you would have at a spring or summer wedding. Instead of flower centerpieces, for example, you can be more creative with what you do. Candles fit the mood of a winter wonderland very nicely, or you can get really creative and make your own centerpieces with Christmas or winter themed supplies from your local craft store.
